How To Stop The Spread Of COVID-19

How To Stop The Spread Of COVID-19

Now, more than ever, we need to stick together (from a social distance) and work towards a healthier future by stopping the spread of COVID-19.

Amidst the chaos of event closures, tough border restrictions, self-isolation, a nation-wide toilet paper scramble and more… We want our community to lead by example and show our neighbouring suburbs, cities and states the power of community spirit.

We believe, slight changes in every household, neighbourhood or small town can drive big changes in the big cities, the nation and the world. The power of communities sticking together can help stop the spread of COVID-19, worldwide.

Here at Mulgrave Dental Group, we have been part of the Mulgrave community since we opened our doors in 1983. That’s why, as a well-respected dental clinic in Mulgrave, we want to inform and assist our patients, neighbours, friends and even strangers during this time.

As a dental clinic, we take health and hygiene very seriously 365 days a year. Your health and wellbeing is our job, and it will always be our number one priority. However, with the current COVID-19 outbreak, we are taking extra steps to ensure our clinic is ultra clean and sanitised.

Here are a few extra things we are doing at our clinic to reduce the spread of germs and bacteria:
  • On your arrival, we will take you through a health check up to ensure you're not experiencing any symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has the virus.
  • We are monitoring temperatures of everyone who walks through our doors.
  • We remain vigilant with sanitisation by constantly cleaning door handles, pens, bench tops, chairs and other surfaces.
  • We are closely following the current coronavirus guidelines updated by the Australian government.
What should you do if you have an upcoming dental appointment?

You have two options:

Option 1: If you have recently returned from overseas, show any signs or symptoms, or have come in contact with someone who has the virus, we will reschedule your appointment for no extra cost. Please stay at home for self-isolation, and simply give us a call on (03) 9562 5156 if you have any concerns about your upcoming dental appointment.

Option 2: If you are healthy, show no signs of coronavirus, have not travelled in the past 14 days and have not come into contact with someone who may have the virus... please come to your appointment! We are open and remain vigilant in our health and hygiene measures to ensure our clinic is as safe and clean as possible.

Please note, we appreciate your cooperation during this time - not only for our patients and staff at Mulgrave Dental Group, but the entire neighbourhood, city, nation and beyond.

Know the signs and symptoms:

A big factor in stopping the spread of COVID-19 is self-responsibility. If you are experiencing any of the following signs or symptoms, be sure to self-distance and seek medical attention to get tested.

  • Fever
  • Flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat and fatigue
  • Shortness of breath

If you have any questions or concerns and want some advice about your symptoms, call the Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080. The line is available 24/7.

How to protect yourself and others:

By making small changes to your lifestyle, you can protect yourself from contracting the virus. If you have the virus, following these health and hygiene tips alongside self-isolation and social distancing will help reduce your chance of passing it on to others.

Please read the following health and safety tips, and take action!

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water
  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitisers
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces around your house and workplace
  • If you are sick, avoid contact with others and stay more than 1.5 metres away from people.

Together, we can help reduce the rapid growth of this virus by following the correct procedures and taking precautions. While we may be self-isolating or social distancing, now is the time to join forces as a community to help stop the spread of coronavirus and keep the people around us safe.

Remember, if you have an upcoming dental appointment yet are feeling unwell, please don’t put others at risk. Self-isolate and call us on (03) 9562 5156, we will reschedule your appointment for no extra cost.

From all of us here at Mulgrave Dental Group, stay safe, wash your hands, keep your home and workplace clean, and distance yourself from others. Collectively, we CAN stop the spread of COVID-19.
