What Is Zoom Teeth Whitening?

Zoom teeth whitening is a state-of-the-art dental procedure combining advanced technology and dental expertise to deliver brighter smiles.

The process follows three simple steps, starting with a thorough examination and discussion of your dental history and goals for your treatment.

At Mulgrave Dental Group, we understand the significance of looking and feeling your best. We recommend Zoom teeth whitening for anyone with tooth discolouration, who is looking for a brighter smile.

Before any treatment, one of our dentists will first perform a thorough oral examination. This will help us gauge the health of your teeth. We will also talk through your dental history and any questions you have about the treatment. This will help us to determine whether Zoom teeth whitening is the best fit for you.

To begin the treatment, our dentist will apply a specialised hydrogen peroxide gel. This gel is full of active whitening agents that effectively target discolouration, breaking down stains so they are no longer visible.

An LED light is then used to fully activate the whitening gel, accelerating the stain removal. This process can take anywhere from 45-60 minutes, depending on the amount of discolouration.

Your dentist may also recommend multiple gel applications and LED light activations in a single session. Rest assured, our experienced team closely monitors the treatment to ensure everything goes well.

Zoom teeth whitening can deliver results in just a single session.

Industry Leading Results

This treatment breaks down deep teeth staining resistant to other methods of professional or home-based teeth whitening.

Easy on Teeth

We offer a well-established procedure backed by Australian dental professionals. Our experienced team will not only ensure your safety but also base the treatment on your specific dental history.

During the Zoom teeth whitening process, the activated whitening gel releases oxygen molecules that assimilate into the enamel of your teeth and deeper. This interaction efficiently breaks down the chemical bonds within a stain, which can reduce discolouration for a visibly brighter appearance.

Zoom teeth whitening is safe when performed by a qualified dental professional. Your wellbeing is our main concern, so we will assess your mouth and teeth sensitivity before starting any treatment. This safeguards your long-term oral health even further.

Some patients experience tooth sensitivity during or after the Zoom teeth whitening procedure. This occurs when the whitening gel temporarily opens the enamel pores, which can lead to increased sensitivity to temperature changes. Any issues are usually temporary and sensitivity often subsides within 3-7 days after the treatment. Your dentist may recommend desensitising paste or other dental products to help you manage discomfort in the interim. For more about the risks, read here.

Zoom whitening treatment is generally comfortable for most patients. While some people may experience mild tooth sensitivity during or after the procedure, any discomfort is typically temporary and will subside. Your dentist will take all the right measures to ensure you are comfortable throughout the treatment.

Zoom teeth whitening effectively removes most stains caused by factors such as aging, food and beverage consumption, and tobacco use. It’s one of the most effective ways of getting your teeth back to their vibrant best.

While Zoom teeth whitening is highly effective, certain deep stains or discolouration caused by factors like medication or injury may not respond as well. Our dentists can discuss if other options are better suited for your goals during your consultation.

A typical Zoom teeth whitening session takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes to complete. Your dentist may re-apply the whitening gel and use the LED light multiple times during the appointment. This ensures you get the best and brightest finish possible for your teeth.

Zoom teeth whitening offers the same stain-removing effect as laser treatment, but using LED light instead of laser. This usually means patients will have less heat sensitivity during the procedure. The LED light treatment is also typically faster than the traditional laser method.

Our dentistry team will guide your decision based on your dental history and the condition of your teeth.
